I thought of this video from the first moment we started talking about audio in digital media.
It was made by editing and looping the audio of Alice in Wonderland. It’s one of my favorites.

The guy who made this did others too. In fact he has a whole album of Alice in Wonderland mixes.

I would love to do something like this eventually. I think it would take quite a lot of time though.

Soundboard

I’m kinda iffy on this assignment. Working with sound is something we should defiantly learn. And well this will be easy enough. Just kinda seems pointless. I should see it as something that will be fun to do. But Soundboards are things for high school kids to play with and aren’t very creative. I think it’s less the juvenile that bothers me and more the ‘its been done to death’. Also that there isn’t a legal way to do this.
Though with what I am planing to do this for, it probably won’t matter much.

I’m thinking of making one for Firefly. It is chock full of wonderful one liners and great quotes.

WordPress Theme Figurin’

Case Study: Create a WordPress Blog for personal branding of your web design consulting business. To demonstrate to your potential clients, you want to make a brand new theme, different from the defaults.

You don’t have to create one (unless you would really like to try) but I want you to investigate what it would take to create a WordPress Theme for yourself. Is there a simple theme that you can start with and build upon, or do you need to start from scratch? What file(s) do you need to modify?

I read through a few tutorials on making a custom WordPress Theme…
seems you have to download WordPress onto your computer to work it right. says these two

And I am completely out of memory on my computer…
(like seriously to the point it is barely running, its pathetic)

I’m not sure how easy it would be to wrangle it on the school computers, I’ll have to try it but the intructions are making me think I’ll be wanting admin access.

Other wise it seems like a bit of CSS magic(+theme specific tag code) and Graphic Design (photoshopin’), stuff that shouldn’t be that hard (in theory). The hardest part seems to be determining a layout for the blog.

The WordPress Codex provides the comment code that must be in a css file and details the bare bones needed for a theme.

This blog lists several resources to make a theme.
There is a great tutorial here that takes you though the whole process from scratch, it gives plenty of examples.

Arbitary, Been awhile post.

Firing this baby back up for my Web 2 class.

I really should have kept it up even when I didn’t have assignments.

Well I have been crazy busy. And…well I want to make the excuse that nobody reads this anyways, but I know on the internet well that isn’t really true. People will continue to pop in even way after a made a post that really has no real connection to what they were searching for probably…
Or atleast thats how I do it sometimes.

Anyway…I just looked up arbitary to make sure it meant what I thought it did…well it doesnt really…
