Alone
Fear.
Personally I have some very strange fears. Spiderwebs; my greatest.
Another is being abandoned; I think this is a bit more universal fear. Here I have one individual unique square standing alone in the middle of the empty space. With the other two blocks I tried to create some perspective and illustrate distance between the objects.

Despair is the lowest low. Left is generally viewed more negatively than the right. Small in size denotes frailty, isolation, and unimportance, all feelings that can lead to despair.

Buttons
Joy. I started by trying to make a cross with my three squares but got about this far and thought “BUTTONS!!!”, and what isn’t great about little shiny buttons?

Excitement.
It’s kinda like a square bursting forth with corners.

Not Fitting
Frustration. (Like I’m feeling trying to get this image to format right.) Getting things to work, fit. Frustrating tasks.
Alternate:
Supposed to be fists pounding a third block down, off canvas. Turned out a bit too sad looking to use.

Anger.

It’s really hard to show emotions without visualizing facial expressions, since thats the dominate way we express our emotions. “I packed your Angry Eyes!”

I associate the expression of anger with throwing and breaking things.

Ok so totally not a creative title.

Questions asked:

Where does creativity come from? What things do creative professionals do to be creative? What are some things you can do to be more creative?

The ability to adapt. Adapt different information, media, ideas, etc. together to form and present something you want to express.

For writers a good technique is free flow writing. Un-edited thought. Just letting it flow from our brains to the page. This is a helpful ability that I picked up from one of my favorite teachers Lori Brock.

I think I will sleep on this and finish in the morning.

Fresh, like a coat of paint.

And to rebut this:

What has been will be again,
what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.

Is there anything of which one can say,
“Look! This is something new?”
It was here already, long ago;
It was here before our time.

First Post!

Ok, so I never know exactly what to post in the first blog post other than ‘Ta Da! I made a blog!’ and well I guess it makes sense to Write an Intro.

This Blog was created for my Fundamentals of Visual Literacy college class. This is supposed to be a way for us to submit assignments and otherwise communicate to the class.

I think its a really ingenious idea.

This isn’t my first blog, I have actually had several, but I’m not a frequent poster on any of them really. So it will be interesting to get the hang of continual posting and having something to post about.

I don’t think I really have to say any of this on here, but I am a fan of free flow writing and I think this is supposed to be somewhat personal so I felt like writing this out.
May be subject to change…
